President Jeff welcomed everyone to our meeting. We will be doing this for quite awhile.
 
Visiting Rotarian Cheree Edwards from the Rotary Club of Ojai.
 
President Jeff will be sending out a zoom invitation for Monday’s board meeting.
 
President Jeff let us know that we are working to put together small groups in “rooms” so we can have discussions like we normally do.

Positive Covid19 cases - 160
Ventura - 18
Over 3,000 tests administered to date
5 deaths – 2 additional undetermined
 
In 2-3 weeks
200-400 new positive cases a day
Potential for over 1,000 deaths in County of Ventura
 
Dr. Levin – Peak in 3-7 weeks Maybe – Don’t know!  Then begin the long road down to normal.
New Public Health Order:  Extends Emergency Declaration to April 19th
Close – Beaches/Parks/Campgrounds
All to wear masks in public

Front lines – Hospitals
Need – Face shields and surgical gowns  - Local community is making

Homeless
County currently contracting with 4 hotels (Ventura/Oxnard/Simi/TO) Additional hotels coming on line soon – Current bed capacity is 550.
In Ventura – Vagabond on Thompson is being used to house the homeless.  Fenced off with security guards. Everyone tested as they come into the area.  All covid19 positive cases are housed at the Oxnard location.
 
Food Share
Pop-up “tent” food pantries

Ventura location – Fair Grounds, Starting Monday, April 6th from 12noon – 2pm

Feeding the Frontline Workers
“World Central Kitchen” will be feeding Hospital staff three meals a day beginning very soon.
WCK will be contracting with local restaurants for 200 meals a day each, all to be delivered to area hospitals free of charge.  Three meals a day.  To donate – www.donate.wck.org
