We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.
We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.
We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:
Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
The Rotary Club of Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.
October is where we work really hard and finish it off with a big party, just how life is suppose to be. Nightmare On The Hill (NOTH), is in less than four weeks, we need to sell as many tickets as possible, tickets are available at noth.bpt.com. We also need to gather as many raffle prizes as we can. If you have a special restaurant or store you go to please ask if they will donate a gift card or basket. There will be weekly meetings until we reach the day of the event, please join us.

On 1 October, RI President John F. Germ declared Samuel F. Owori Rotary International's president-nominee.
The Nominating Committee for President selected Owori, a member of the Rotary Club of Kampala, Uganda, in August. He will be elected at the 2017 RI Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and will become president on 1 July 2018.

Nigeria reported three cases of wild poliovirus in the northeastern state of Borno in August of this year. Following the World Health Organization's confirmation of these cases, the country returned to the list of polio-endemic countries. The other polio-endemic countries are Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Rotary was recognized on 17 September on public television's fifth annual American Graduate Day program for its work with San Diego-based Monarch School, a K-12 school for homeless youth. Each year, the program prepares up to 100 fellows to work for peace through a two-year master's degree program or a three-month professional certificate program at university partners worldwide.

The Rotary Foundation has received the highest possible score from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.
In the most recent ratings, released on 1 September, The Rotary Foundation earned the maximum 100 points for both financial health and accountability and transparency.
The ratings reflect how efficiently Charity Navigator believes the Foundation will use donations, how well it has sustained programs and services, and its level of commitment to good governance and openness.
In the previous rating, the Foundation had received 97 points.
