Rotary Club of Ventura-East
Elevator Speech
 
We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian social organization comprising local business, civic and professional leaders. We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to solve community and global problems with service projects. Like:
  • Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
  • Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
  • Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
  • Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
  • Internationally we support a medical project in Ethiopia and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
The Rotary Club of  Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community. Use your professional skills and talents to make a difference.

This week we will have our social event at Bright Spark Brewery on 4561 Market St at 5:30pm
 
The wellness Center & Buena Interact Cares Closet will have a ribbon cutting on April 26 at 1pm at the Buena Hight School. Please attend if you are available to support our sponsored Interact club.
 
The IDEA Center is hosting our Ventura Rotary clubs for lunch and a tour of the facility on April 28th at 1pm please let me know if you would like to join.

Cal Magro spoke about the Beach Clean-up on April 22nd in conjunction with SurfRider Foundation.
 
Carin Kally spoke about Aut2Run on April 30th at CSCUI. If you would like to help Carin work at the Rotary Booth, please let Carin know. We need volunteers to serve food and wine at the Girl Scout event.
 
Tim Hughes spoke about scholarships. We have 42 applications. Thank you to Abbi Hanoch, Carin Kally and Dawn Knowles for going through the application process and helping decide who is receiving scholarships this year.
 
Bruce McGee spoke about membership. Thanked everyone for inviting potential members.
May 13th is the Rotary Foundation Gala. This will be at the Camarillo Airport and we will need some help with set-up. We need a few people with pick-ups to help move some tables and chairs.
