Introduction of guests & visiting Rotarians – Jordan Eller
Visiting from the Rotary Club of Moorpark was Jim Lewis, guest of Jim Lewis was Tracy Hart
 
Jim Lewis let us know how we stand with Polio cases in the world so far this year and invited us to find a donor to be a walker or rider on this years Rotary Rose Parade Float.
 
I want to thank the greeter Laura Shannon-Prange & Tom Swan for taking attendance.
 
Maragida Eidson conducted the raffle this week. Our raffle prize was a hand crafted wooden planter made by Jim Word.

  • Board has voted to add a new level of membership
    • Family/business membership. 1st person is full pay 2nd is essentially Rule of 85.
  • Chamber mixer at CMH this evening. Tours will be given from 5:00 – 7:00. Say your with the Rotary Club of Ventura-East.
  • Rafael "Rafa" Canton has resigned from the club. The club agreed that we should make Rafa an Honorary Rotarian.
  • Passing around cards for Colin Hoag, recovering from back surgery and Dave Stork, recovering from an illness.
Avenues of Service:
Bruce McGee spoke about the District Conference. Topics will include Human Trafficking, Peace and others.
Bruce also let us know that the Rotary Site at the Ventura Botanical Gardens will be dedicated on November 17th. The hardscape is happening now. This is a very exciting time for the gardens.
 
Roy Valdez made an announcement regarding our Poinsettia Sales. Please go out and sell Poinsettias!
 
Our Happy Dollars today went to the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee: Joe Strohman, Bruce McGee, Jeff Hata, Tom Swan, Jim Lewis and Roy Valdez.
 
Margarida conducted the raffle and our lucky winner was Tim Hughes!
