Dear Joe Strohman
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Alireza Taeb(Ollie), I was one of the scholarship recipients from the last academic year, which I think was around July, 2020.   I'm almost halfway through my freshman year at Uc Davis, and so far it has been the craziest experience of my life when it comes to my personal and professional growth.

You might ask what is the purpose of this long and dreadful email, as I am very well aware that you and your fellow Rotarians are busy and occupied with your professional lives. Well I just wanted to say Thank you and give you a look on my experience at college. And the impact that you guys had on it. If it wasn't for the generous help of the Rotary Club of Ventura East, I would not have been able to move to campus and gain the full experience of independence and being outside of my intellectual bubble. The opportunity to move away from home has forced me to grow and adapt in many ways, needless to say that it was very difficult but I am grateful for it.

As I mentioned in my previous application my commitment and journey with Rotary and it's principles will go much further than just my Interact career. I am currently serving as the District Rotract Representative for District 5240, with my friend and colleague Elijah Harnar. In this position I've had the pleasure of working with many bright minded individuals including the Ventura Rotaract team. And I seriously cannot wait for circumstances to give us more flexibility in what we can accomplish. I think it's worth mentioning that as soon as I got to campus, I searched for the UC Davis Rotaract club. Long story short I'm also an active member of the UCD Rotaract club and I attend their meetings regularly. Also definitely looking to get more involved as we move forwards.

Please feel free to share this with your fellow Rotarians to let them know that I have not forgotten about their generous help, and I'm still seeking to pay it forward in whatever way I can.

Sincerely,

Alireza Taeb
