History of Ventura-East
The Rotary Club of Ventura-East was chartered on May 23, 1963 and is a 100% Paul Harris Club, 54th in the world and 1st in our district. We meet every Thursday from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm sharp!
Our weekly meetings are comprised of lunch, club business, we sing a song, we laugh a great deal and we have informative speakers that cover a wide variety of topics of general interest. During the month we have “Avenues of Service” meetings where our Avenues of Service go over various projects that they are working on. Our commitment to Service is much greater than just our weekly meetings.
In our community we have worked with many non-profits that you are all familiar with FoodShare, Boys & Girls Club, Salvation Army, Project Understanding, Ventura Family YMCA, the newly formed Ventura Botanical Gardens to name just a few.
We also sponsor an Interact Club at Buena High School as well as a community based Ventura Rotaract Club. We also give thousands of dollars annually in scholarships to Buena High School Seniors.
Internationally we sponsor water projects in Nicaragua and support many other humanitarian projects in Nicaragua, we work with a Children’s Hospital in Ensenada and an all girl’s vocational school in India.
We are always on the lookout for business professionals in our community who are looking to make a difference and give back to our local and international communities. If this would be you please let us know!
